I'm guessing the answer is no, since if he dies in battle the game is over. He really should be though (The game is named after him after all), I liked taking my faction leaders into battle.

He is a controllable general, and he can't die he just get wounded and are sent back to paris. And after some turns(don't know how many) he is back for you to controll, but be warned, if it happens again he is gone for good. Not dead but not controllable

after all, TW games are meant to change or repeat history. If you want to repeat it, just keep him safe in battles and if you want to change it than kill napoleon!

Excellent! I'll actually be able to care about atleast one of my Generals, I can't stand Empire's they look awful.
Well, in NTW, every general is individual.
They take historical generals of the time and give them their own traits, portraits and in-game model
It's pretty awesome, actually
There's a whole bunch of pictures of most of them from that Russian site. Already many have been named. Wellington and Picton are in for the British, and Mehmed Ali for the Ottomans and so-on-so-forth
You recruit them off this funny menu once you click the "recruit general" button on a stack. The higher star-rating a general, the more he costs.
Also, just to clarify: you can play as napoleon as a general, and he is wounded the first time he 'dies' and he stops being a general the second time he's wounded (but remains the head of state). With other generals, they die after the second wounding and don't come back for anything. Except mabye generals like Charles XVIIVIXIVIVI (I can't remember the number) of Sweden (who is also confirmed)
