M2TW Gold Edition which patch?

Hello,

I have a question, a few days ago i bought Medieval 2 + Kingdoms (Gold), To play mods, i have to patch the game to 1.05, but which patch? I downloaded the Euro patch (I live in Holland). But when i try to run SS or Third Age it says; "Wrong Disc". Meanwhile i can still play the vannila game I hope you can help me.

Did you make sure to get the Gold edition patch or did you just download the standard 1.5 patch for the original release of Kingdoms? There is a difference.

My advice would be to uninstall, run a reg cleaner, delete the Sega folder in the Appdata section if you're running Vista/Win7, and then reinstall. Then make sure to download the Euro version of the Gold edition patch which should update you to 1.5.

This game is ridiculous when it comes to patch versions - it's the touchiest I've ever seen so be careful that you get the patch for your region and your specific product. Good luck!

Just to let you know that is the patch for the original release of Kingdoms and not for the Gold edition that you have. This caused me problems when I had to patch as well. I'll look for a good download site for you later.

Ow, my fault Do you need to uninstall the game or can you just (re)patch?

Please bear with me. This patch has been a pain since it was released.

Is it the EU version that you bought? Is it installed in the Dutch language? Does the download size of the path match the size listed on the site?

Yes it is the EU version, And no, it is installed in english, you can't select dutch, only english, french, spanish and i thought italian. the size of the patch and the size listed on the site match yes.

Try to download it, again. I have had bad downloads before.

You ask SS about the wrong disc error and he will say turn off the UAC.

I don't see a EU Gold version listed but I do see Gold Editions for the different languages.

Did you completely uninstall the game and then reinstall before patching? It probably won't work if you apply it after trying to use the bad patch.

As for Euro patch I think that the UK version is the Euro patch but I may be mistaken. IIRC we had another poster from the Netherlands that used the UK patch to get his game up and running. I think his game had both Dutch and English on the box - is yours the same? Good luck!

Using the UK patch, i can't run the Kingdoms campaings, only M2.

Hmm. Is your game language in French? I'm not sure what the problem here is - the patching procedure for this game is beyond stupid.

It's the French patch for the Gold edition. If it works then good, if not then we cross another off our list. I'm willing to help any way I can but this is starting to stretch into the absurd thanks to CA's lack of coding skills and poor patching procedure. Good luck!

Tried to patch the game using French Gold patch, but that didn't work, it says: This version of Kingdoms cannot be applied to the english version.

Will try again the UK version, but isn't it possible to download the US/UK Gold Edition and use my own disc to play?

To be honest, I don't know but I would try them all until one finally worked. But that's being me.
