Credit goes to Kolya for those unit caps. I just shamelessly stole them from the link he gave.

I think, overall, the amount of stuff I like and stuff I dislike pretty much evens out from these screenshots. You get things like the Brits uber line infantry vs. the those not-boar-spears...

Overall, I'd say it'll be a lot like ETW. A game for the modders to pull apart and put back together.

Well I don't understand Russian and the graphics settings are on low, so all I can really comment is: the unit cards look like crap. But that's nothing new

They're supposed to be French line grenadiers but you're right. The shako should widen towards the top

The blue guys are Polish Legion (Polski Legion). I think the red fellows are Swiss (Shaveizaskaya Peshota). The green fellows are the Lombard Legion (Lombardski Legion).

As I said before, even my transliteration skills are a bit poor since my last Russian class was a while ago. Anybody who actually speaks it is welcome to correct me

This french shako??? Someone knows? Looks weird...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    the stripes (galon) on the shako is not correct, if those are grenadiers, the galon should have a 'V' shape, like seen on this small picture (1812 shako and plate);

also their shakos should have the brass chinscales, who are also missing. The leather cockarde tricolore is too big, its much smaller (9cm).
French shakos were made in standard models, you had the first 1806 model with leather straps on the sides (chavrons) and a square plate,
this was for all french infantry units.

(a douaniers shako, but the model is the standard infantry shako from 1806 and square plate.
no chinscales and a leather cockarde tricolore. decorations on top were numerous, also the
galon stripes, (mostly used by special units and officers).

In 1809/1810 a new model was introduced, higher then the 1810 model, with chinscales and other
plate models, the chavrons were gone.

an original 1809/1810 shako model with different plate model (the older models were also still in use)
used by all kind of units, also some regiments had their own made model shako plates.

in 1812 a new model shako appeared (bardin regulations), higher then the older models, also a new plate
was introduced, with on top an Empire eagle

1812 standard model shako with 1812 plate (its a standard infantry plate, only the tekst is different)
with chinscales, cocarde tricolore and so called pompon.

If they had done some deeper research they would probably have found out that for the whole french army were made regulations,
which describe the french uniforms in all their details, the so called Bardin regulations, these books are to be found in google books,
and were the official uniform regulations for napoleons army, two of them are written in 1808 and in 1812,

The Bardin regulations for the French Army1812 (french only)

    http://books.google.nl/books?id=qbVQ...age&q=&f=false

the Bardin regulations for the French Army 1808 (French only)
    (no link yet)

(als posted info about these books in the historical research part of the forum)

Yeah, what do those titles say? I could translate some like Napoleon Bonaparte, Marshal Ney, Infantry with muskets or just Foot and so. Btw don't you guys thik the Chasseur 'a Cheval (or whatever their name is) 've got a wrong uniform? Have anyone here read the "Souveniers of Charles Parquin"?

light infantry suck in melee, line are worse in melee and better in shooting compared to empire, lancers are even more charge depending, artillery have longer ranges seems like cav will be more important
    btw +rep for the link

No penants for the lances, abit of a shame.
French Carabineers on red saddle cloth's instead of blue, I expected this short cut, I suppose CA had time constraints. And we aready new about the French old guard inf and artill having a Bearskin mix up.

If you don't know about uniforms, or even care, that's fine, but when you take an interest, and like to zoom in alot in battles like me, when you know there wrong, it spoils the show abit!
