Default The Map they gave you with the game

Wow! Today I opened my ETW box again (I have already owned it for 8 months), and remembered the map that came with the game! Which reminded me how less enthusiastic I am into ETW compared to say...RTW.

RTW came with a map as well. Back in those days, a few of my friends also had the game, I would take the map to school (laminated already) and we would discuss tactics the WHOLE lunch. Which is the best way to invade gaul etc etc. How to get those nasty far-away provinces from Germany etc etc.

Now....nothing special =/ You can see the cities right from the start, you know where the borders are, you know where the cities are (no need to search the whole province for campus sake).

So, has anyone else ever used the ETW map somewhat extensively?

No because I didn't want to ruin it . I only really used it to memorize the names of some provinces and clarify their spelling. I can for the most part picture the map in my head. I might stall on some names but that's not really what's important--it's their locations.

Can you buy it individually? If I knew about the DLC, I wouldn't have bought SF. Waste of the extra 20 bucks (AUD).

I was really disapointed with the map. We actually paid good money for it, and was expecting something like RTW as well.

The map was my first big disappointment with ETW. 'A stunning illustrated Campaign Map' is how it was described on the SF box. I would beg to differ.

I have used the SFE Map very much. I used it for an Imperial Era ETW-Based RPG and I used the map for the RPG map. It was great for that so yes, I am very glad I got it

Hate the Black and White map, I think it cost CA what .9 cents to make. I uses to tack up my Rome map and uses it when playing, but ETW. Nope, the only time I have taken it out of the box was when I bought the game. Looked at it and said, " How Cheap." I put it back in the box and there it stays. I would sell it to a die hard fanboy of ETW, but it would cost me more in shipping than I would be able to sell it for.

Funnily enough I just looked at the map three days ago - the last time was when I purcahsed SF - It was pretty..thats it.

Well, yeah, you could actually get a better map by searching for "1700 world map" on google and printing it it black/white.

Ah the humble Xbox, so badly made it has its own system to tell you when its finished killing itself and played by people who think thats computers only have pong and that wouldnt know startegy if it "PWNED them with Shotty..." so to speak...

The map was awful, no care at all went into it, the Rome map I still have, keep it safe, ETWs box is somewhere in the heap of crap next to my PC...

Shoot coward! You are only going to kill a man!
