Well, no insult to nationalism or anything, but don't they get paid less? So wouldn't CA be more apt to pay people to review their games that cost less?

If you are reffering to the recent youtube videos, they're not the full game, its a beta, probably the preview beta. Perhaps he is a journalist for a magazine?

But no, in seriousness, it's quite simple, those are beta cuts of the game. Was there an open beta? If yes, the answer is obvious. But even if there wasn't, perhaps there was a 'closed public' beta.
So what you're seeing are probably videos that aren't supposed to exist.

This is a beta version for the press. I do not know why it is so hotly debated. Probably because some people in their communications forget to talk about that. This is a BETA version, my friends. Only beta.

Can't speak on this case specifically, but IIUC, when software goes through QA testing, goes "gold", etc, it passes through numerous hands. All you need is for one person with a flash drive to get the files, then pass it along. So there isn't necessarily any hacking involved. E.g., the ETW that was released on March 2 wasn't hacked, as you could read the comments in the scripting files (not that I've seen them...). I imagine if you have the right connections, passing along RC and Beta files can be quite lucrative. Originally Posted by 4apai
