    Default France and Artillery.

    Hi there.
For some time I have been a bit, let us just say, annoyed by the fact that France has no real access to cannons in the late game, other than a small number of 24’lber and 18’lber guard units. And that is way too few pieces for a nation who should have by far the best and most powerful artillery arsenal in the western world. I hope that CA lets France recruit ordinary 24’lber cannons too, like the rest of the nations. If only to argument the fact that Frances 24 and 18’liber guard cannons are elite units. Leaving France with only 8 heavy pieces in the late game is a serious handicap that should be addressed in the next patch by, as stated, granting France access to ordinary 24’liber cannons in unlimited numbers too.
Am I the only one who thinks like this?

    Hi there.
None, really? I had thought that others than me considdered the french artillery-limits as an anoying problem. But then again, this could also mean that there aren't that many french ETW players around here.

I found that annoying as well, especially because by the time you have the tech built up to get the guard units, you are decisively engaged in warfare in at least 2 if not 3 of the theaters, making the shortage even more pronounced. They are pretty sweet once they have 5 or so experience, but still.

There will be no more ETW patches.

Yeah, that kind of figures. Aside from the artillery thing, my biggest gripe with France was not being able to recruit dragoons or any unit with a policing bonus in the European theater (colonial dragoons were still available, but not very helpful), which forced me to stage a revolution right away, even though I really wanted to keep a monarchy under Louis XIV. Seems like a bit of an oversight, or intentional to keep France from taking out the UP, Westphalia and Wurrtemburg early on.
