    Default Eastern Reforms (?)

    Hello,

As I've been recently playing more eastern factions than my normal barbarian hordes I've noticed that their generals turn into tanks at a certain point. (Baktrian general has 30 armor. Lol. Equal to elephants.)

So my question is; is this an event that happens at a specific point? Seeing as it happened to me twice and it both was around 235BC.

Or has it something to do with the vanilla reforms?

Also; what other units do you get from this besides the overpowered generals?

Yes, they have to do with the Vanilla Marian reforms. They happen when a city in Italy + Rome become huge....

Other changes? Some new units become recruitable (for instance the KH and Macedonian reformed phalanxes, and Baktria, Saka, Parthia, Armenia and Pontos get new bodyguards

Well thank **** for that. The Parthians were becoming a nuisance. Having an impenetrable meatshield is awesome.

Also, I noticed that all the generals I recruited with the type IV governments became Baktrain Late Bodyguards too! Sure as hell beats those weak weak weak Nomad Nobles! And they got 3 golden chevrons in the process aswell. Lol.

So eastern reforms only need a huge city in italy? No need for the romans to be around for that?

I think I read somewhere that it does require the Romans to build the needed structures etc. for it. But please do correct me if I'm wrong.

The Romans need to own Rome plus a huge city in italy for the reforms to happen.
