Help help, can never win American Campaign

I really don't understand this game: I think I'll go back to playing my 1994 copy of Microsoft's "Age of Empires" -- it's much better.

Okay here's what happens. I'm playing the American Campaign Tutorial. It tells me to build some farms: I build 2 basic farms where it lets me. I conscript some troops in my capitol and then go out & slaughter all the Indians. I take all their cities, I can't go anywhere else. It tells me that I can build new stuff in the Indian Cities if I demolish their horse breeding thing 1st. Their religion is Animalism. However the ONLY option I ever have is to repair the horse breeding station. The demolish option doesn't work.

I can never demolish anything, I can never upgrade my 2 miserable farms, I can never disband any troops. I can never build any more farms. Since everyone else is dead I don't need this many troops and rather not pay for them. Oh yeah, I can build one basic port but cannot upgrade it. I can't build anything else in my Capitol. When I open the objectives panel there's nothing left for me to do.

I hit enter many times, since I can do nothing else. Advisors tell me that some areas have low pop growth due to unimproved farms but I can't build anything else. All I could ever build were 2 basic farms + the one basic port. I hit enter and passed 220 years. It is 1707 or maybe 1720. I have maybe 1 million in cash but can't do anything. Do I keep hitting Enter till I get to 2010?

This game is no good, just hitting "enter" gets boring after a couple hundred years.

Is there more to the game than this?

Please help!!!

Did you build a fishery in your home region?

yes, that's the only place I can build one. I think I may have called it a port but me thinks it's a fishery. I guess this means I automatically can't build anything else anywhere?

Well all you mention was the two farms, so I thought maybe you skipped the fishery build quest and that was why.

So you say you've built all the buildings and captured all the regions right? All 3?

If that's so, have you checked your objectives (the tab with the trophy icon) to make sure you've done everything needed?

You are talking about the RtI, how difficult can it be to follow the instructions that are given very simply by the game?

OMG! Now I've seen it all... How difficult can it be to complete a

ing tutorial?

Right-click on one of the buildings in the city tab if you did it right an information scroll will appear, on the side of the information scroll is a button that let's you demolish the building. Click it and confirm: voila!

RTI was way too boring for me to finish... do you need to repair buildings before you can destroy them? thats the only thing i can think of

to demolish something, click on the torch icon on the left of the building card.

try that.

Actually if any of you brainiacs would read my original post you'll see that I wasn't allowed to demolish any buildings. Yes I can see the torch thing but no demolishion is allowed. Also there were no outstanding objectives left. However I think there was some sort of programming glitch as I restarted the scenario from start and was able to complete it.

Don't worry about making a newbie feel bad: it would've been worse NOT to get any resposes. At least I learned the Microsoft's Age of Empires was 1997 & NOT 1994 so yous guys are somewhat useful.

I wish I could help with the Road to Treason scenario but I never played it. But those who slag off newcomers should be more helpful instead.If you want to play a late campaign as US ,play darthmod late campaign which is a great improvement. Or the special American Revolution mod TAR.
