From a multiplayer perspective, I was surprised by how long the AI troops were able to fight without routing. Many units were completely isolated and surrounded yet they fought til the bitter end. Many interesting things I noticed about artillery too; it appears that either howitzers now have canister, or cannon are able shells targets with indirect fire. Furthermore, near the end of the second video, you see roundshot used briefly by the AI's cannon and it was quite effective. Whereas in Empire only men directly hit by the cannon ball could be killed, it seems that in NTW just being close to the point of impact is enough to cause casualties. I'm very happy to see that as round shot (not shrapnel shot) really should be a common sight on the battlefield.
Wasn't too happy to see that cannon apparently still target the flanks of units, rather than their center. I could be mistaken but that was the impression I got by watching the cannon fire at specific targets. Still, overall it looked quite good. The improved smoke, muzzle flash, and artillery effects are very nice.
