how does one go about setting this up?

u need to sign up for a SEGA Pass and then the campaign on totalwar's website:

its only a BETA and there are a few problems but its still fun of course

Can someone explain how the multiplayer campaign works? I get how it works on the map, but what about battles? Say you're ready to go, but the guy controlling France isn't available? And do we know when it'll be out of beta?

I will not come out of Beta.

Battles, you fight them together or autoresolve. There are only 2 players, your opponent controls the opposing force at the tactical level. Perhaps I dont understand the question?

okay here is how this works...
1) go to SEGA page and apply for a SEGA pass
2) SEGA will send u an email to activate your pass
3) logon to SEGA page using your SEGA pass to click n select that u wanna join the beta program
4)SEGA will sent u the keycodes thru email
5) open steam>>go to games>>choose to activate a product

bingo! there u go , enjoy mate!
