long turns
why are the turns so long
also why are you only able to recuit like 1 unit in each city until 4 turns?

Before someone comes and rips you a new one i'll tell you exactly what they will.
1) Use the search function.
2) If at first you fail, try try again.
But to put it briefly, there are many reasons. Some of which are...
- Not enough memory on your compy.
- The sheer multitude of stacks in the campaign map takes time for the AI to calculate.
- Scripts, scripts and more scripts.
- You don't have "Skip AI movement" on.
To fix.
- Get more memory.download
- Download "Game Booster" which is available via google
- Delete unncessary and informative scripts in your mods folder
- Reduce the Kings Purse
I'm sure there are more, but that should at least help a bit.
For your second question, I believe the game requires you to be in possession of a city for a few turns before you can produce military units in it. This is to simulate unrest and mobilization (i'd assume.) I could be entirely incorrect though.
