I can't get dragoons with austria,
Need to supress the Clamour for reform in my capital a bit, i am a republic.
Do i need a colony in the other theatres to make this happen or?

Austria, like France, can only build Colonial Dragoons. So, in order to get Dragoons you would need a colony with a military building and then ship them home.

Aussie - You can get them, but only in your colonies. Researching carbines nets you Carabineers in Europe as Austria, which are not Dragoons. Your colonies however, can produce Dragoons. France suffers from the same limitation, unless I am completely missing something.

Thats strange, im playing as Austria and I can get dragoons anywhere (and caraabineers). I am an absolute monarchy though.

im pretty sure u can get dragoons in europe as austria
as france theres no such thing as dragoons, only chasseurs a cheval and carabiniers
it could be either cos ure a republic or u dont have any barracks advanced enough to recruit them

just realised Austria doesnt get Dragoons but can get Light Dragoons
do light goons still have the policing bonus?

FYI, North Africa counts as colonial territories for European powers. So an easy way to get dragoons as a power that doesn't have them is to take a nice Barbary province and you only have to ship over a short distance.

U can only get them when you conquer some other continent and use them,just that Austria does not usually attack the Americas early...

no, LD's can be recruited by Austria and they have the same policing bonus and are far more effective in battle so theres no point recruiting dragoons
and all these topics uve just written in something already in the topic is unnecessary
