    Default Unit Height modifying

I have been looking around the tutorials and keyword searching, but at a loss to find data regarding the hidden attribute-height altering. I think Sub Rosa had some data on it,but not sure where I saw it???

We all know the German Berserkers have greater height in RTW,but how to adjust up or down,a unit height?

I am trying to Mod,and use Variag units, but the models are bigger than normal RTW models and look like Rambos, and feel out of place. If I can adjust the height, they would blend in better!

Aradan, you are working on a Modders Guide, can you add such data also to it??? As how to edit a hidden unit attribute????

    Any help appreciated.

It is already included in the EDU guide actually.

[height](may not be visible) : Hidden attribute height of the unit. The default value is 1.7. It represents the height of the unit's soldiers (again not visually). Little is known concerning the exact way that height functions, but it is known that the higher it's value, the weaker the unit.
But that's not gonna help you, because this attribute just changes the height of the unit internally, not visually. If you can't rescale the model, what you need is to get xidx and rescale a skeleton with it and then use it for the model. That will decrease height. Then you can adjust the scale attribute of the DMB entry in order to make them look skinnier.

Ok thanks. I did know the EDU entry, but no references to actually change VISUALs until you told me. Internally, sheesh,no wonder altering data in DMB did not change anything???

Right I will have to find the Xidx tool and looksie.

    Appreciated.

Most Animation/skeleton packages (or at least the Unfied one I created for RTR years ago) have small, meduim (default) or large skeletons so you can change the skeleton selection on the DMB file and reduce the height that way.

    Off-Topic:

Well, that's not as bad as it seems... In those times people did not smoke, no environmental pollution, no stress-of-office, there were no machines (all that was to move heavy things, it was a blood traction)... People ate lots of calories, high in fat (no "light" meals ) and more than half of young men (or all, sometimes) it spent his time fighting each other...

If you add all that, it is logical that the body of those times was quite different from today...
