Icon4 The long Road and steam

Hey, I recently bought m2tw on steam and this is what I have tried

Extracting 2.4 TLR to my common/medieval2 folder
I clicked The_long_Road.bat file, it brought up the m2tw launcher, and the game was not TLR 2.4
I tried putting @The_Long_Road.bat in my steam MYGAMES launch from properties, once again the launcher was brought up. and TLR didnt launch

    Questions
How do I fix this and play the mod
    Does Steam Auto Patch
Do i need to change any files
I just downloaded 2.4 do i need to download the older mod versions.
    Any other tips=much appreciated

    Statements
Thanks for the coolest mod ever!

version 2.4 is standalone...it needs the 2.4.1 patch however.

Ok, I installed the patch and The menu screen is fine but when i enter campaign its all messed up with white blocks everywhere, Does steam auto patch? and do i replace the descr_strat with all the words from the new one, or do I just put it in imperial campaigns as well

THat was why I suggested using version 2.0 then update it with 2.4 and then 2.1 as it seems to solve problems with a white UI for some strange reason.
