    Default Carthage campaign

I thought it is a good idea to make a threed for my carthagian reports, just as some other beta testers did.

And here is a small report:

I marched with a huge(1840 men strong) army north to Arminium, witch prove to be the last true military base for the romans.I placed my army next to the city. With a second 1100 soldier strong army I defeated two small roman armies totaling 720 men,so these small roman armies don't unite to defeat me.The next turn the romans came and attacked my army next to their city. They totaled(with the garrison) 1630 soldiers. The battle was quite hard,..as in this battle they had the dge in cavalry. They defeated some of my sleengers and tarantine cavalries(just this kind of cavalries were with my general),...but luckily I broke their infantry line with mine and thus won the battle,..but lost almost 400.
I gathered a 1100 men strong army from my two cities in Sicily and with some mercenaries, and marched towards the last roman city in Sicily. At the end of the turn two puny roman armies came out of Messana(is this the city in north-east Sicily?)and attacked me.Now I'm on to fight the battle and crush with my afrikan forest elephants.

Economy is still as it is: good, but still not overflowing.Possibli a little more.

    Another report with screenshots.

I took Arminium, and Arretium. And I am curently sieging their last city in Sicily.Today, when I last played,..I click on the advisor and thus enabled the background script witch I didn't done earlyer. And then the romans decided to use all of their strengh, and out of nowhere they spawned three full stask(levy armies),..one near Rome and two near Genoa.SO a last big challange awaits me before I take all of Italy and crush Rome.

Hopefully my army base at Capua is built and I can spawn the blood thursty italians against the romans.I am trainind them now in Capua with another reinforcement from Afrika.

Economycaly I am OK.I get how mutch I need, not how mutch I want, and I am still balancing around 70.000-90.000 denarii(or lower when I build in many places).

    Thats all,..hope it is informative.

Which reminds me to remind people to click on the advisor in order to activate the script when it's reloaded.

Altough having to face all three at the same time, which came out of nowhere and I wasn't prepeared for it,....makes me fell "oh yeah another challange comes".Also it sounds quite interesting the fact that now the romans really need suport so they turned to slaves and thus made levy armies.I should bring them to Cannae and finish them off.

    Just a very short update:

I took the last Roman city in Sicily. The romans seem very agressive now that they have 3 full stacks(spawned levies).I now am before a battle in Latinum. The romans have a full levy army and a small around 600 men reinforcement with allied units(legionaries manly and some cavalry). My army is the one I trained in Capua, and besides the cavalry(witch are mainly spanish)it is a full italian army with a bunch of lucani and a like 4-4 samnite and bruttian spearman. It isn't a bad army,...the italians are good soldiers,..but I think I will lose this battle because of 3 factors:
-I don't really have an edge in cavalry(we are like equal in numbers,..possibly my spanish ones are better, but not that mutch better)
    -They have superior numbers
-I don't have units that can throw or shoot, and without missile support, the better roman infantries will probably brake me.

Thats all for now.My apolygies, but I won't have that mutch time testing due to school stuff and others. So reports will not be that frekvent,..but hope I will be helpfull.

I fought that battle in Latinum.I had to attack the romans and thus had a disadvantage, but waiting them to attack would have been even worse as they would have brought more soldiers. My plan was to charge the first roman line with full force,..in the centre with 6 lucani ligth infantries(witch are quite strong by the way),..at the flanks with 2-2 samnites and 1-1 bruttians, aswell as I had a bruttian in the centre,..behind the lucanians.I had also 2 archers who shoot the enemy from the back.My plan didn't worked as the romans just overhelmed me,..and their triariis just prevented me to a brake through their lines. My cavalries killed the enemy ones, but with such casualties that I could not make a propper charge.I managed to kill the enemy general, and thus rout a few units, but this was not enough.I lost the battle,..and I could kill just about 1200 enemies. This is not that bad concerning my disadvantages in the battle.
But a turn later,.PAY-BACK TIME!!!I landed near Capua with my reinforcement from Afrika and I anihilated the remaining romans there. With my general that lost that battle,I regathered another army with mercenaries and trained soldiers from Capua,..and now I am waiting the romans in Latinum with the two full stacks close to each other.I also gathered a aprox 1000 strong army from Sicily and landed near Capua,but..I couldn't move further with them.
The romans still have a decent army,..the remaining two levy armies and aswell ass strong garrisons in their remaining italian settlements: Rome,Rhegion and Genoa. But they place safely and not agressively,..witch give me a little breath,..but will be a pain in the future,as it will be very very tough to take their cities with garrisons like these, and aswell some field armies next to their cities witch disagree to attack me on a plain battlefield(so I could anihilate them).
I am thinking right now weather to fully concentrate on Italy and get rid of those massive roman armies as soon and as fast as possible,...OR surprise them and confiscate their remaining two islands: Sardinia and Corsica,..witch I presume are a bit unguarded.

Thats all, screenshots come later.Hope it is informative.

    Here is a further report:

I gave the romans a lesson that they will never forget.I took Rome and aimediately after that Rhegion.I landed with a full stack in Sardinia and after defeating a half stack roman army there,I besieged Catania, witch has a small garrison.
But then out of nowhere a massive gallaeci invasion came, witch started by besieging Carthago Nova nad Saguntum. There is no way to defend them.
Now I want to take a city in northern afrika, because I suspect they have some hiden resource there as it is still in my homeland. My plan is that after I take that city in northern afrika with a full stack,I will focus on a reconquista on Iberia.

Because of my quite big military,my income went down a little,..and the newly gained territories in Italy and Sicily don't give that mutch.Maybe you could give to the sicilian cities a quite good economy as historically they quite mutch offered big resources to Rome in the punic war,..and they would have offered to Carthage too.Rome gave quite a good income, but still....

I am starting to think weather I will be able to gather myself a good economy,...OR NOT.Well we will see what the future will bring, but losing Carthago Nova will ruin my economy quite a bit,...it is possible that I will get minus income.

    And a few suggestions:
1)You could make the italian medium cavalry and mercenary phalanigtes to be recruitable(the phalangites just in southern Italy). They are a good addition to any army,..expecially that can't recruit phalangites.
2)I will see how my economy will hold,..and will offer a feed-back weather to increase it or leave it as it is.

Don't forget, you're playing on Hard campaign. It'd be easier on Medium. The point here is to get to a level where it's really tough, but just winnable on Hard.

Yeah,I forgot that a bit.Well it surely will be hard against the gallaeci and still maintaining Italy.

I didn't had mutch time testing last week,..but still.. here is a small update:

I took Caralis in Sardinia,..and after loosing a full stack army in a ship fight(the cheater romans killed my trireme and bireme with two biremes),and some others in battles,..and so my economy went back a little.I took a strong full stack army of mine,..and marched into Numidia(south to the carthagian settlement, with which the player starts).I observed that the free peoples have a ton of armies there,..but luckily these were of low quality,so I overcome like 2700 with 1600 of mine in a battle losing just a few hundred.

I can almost safely say that Carthage is well balanced. The economy is just right: you get quite a lot from the begining, which is historical, but this money needs to be used on many things,..OK it is quite hard to get past 100.000.I think the economy is ok.I didn't had any problem with public order,..expecially not in Africa which is again, realistic and OK.
