Controls like in RomeTW

Hello, I'm new here, and I'm new to Empire Total War. I never liked Total War series' controls but it seems like this game's controls are even worse. So, I decided to fix them this time. I have a few questions:

1. In Rome Total War, when you double-clicked somewhere on the map (I'm not talking about the minimap) the camera moved there. Is there a way to bring this feature to this game? I have some programming experience and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty changing stuff in the files. If it's possible to do this modification, can you point me to the right file? Of course, any suggestion is welcome.

2. In Rome Total War you could assing a key for every game speed (e.g. normal speed, double speed, triple speed). Can I do this thing here, even if it requires editing some files?

3. How can I assing a combination of keys (e.g. Ctrl+KeyUp) to an action? In which file are the key assignments stored?

I tried that but it doesn't work. I mean, it shows the combination when I first set it, but soon I exit Ctrl+KeyUp becomes only KeyUp.
