Default Elite units of the East killing computer

I've played a single player battle with the new units so I know they're working ok, but when I tried a campaign with the Ottoman Empire, i only got about 2 turns in before it crashed. I don't mean a CTD, my computer just turned itself off. It came back on fine and i tried to carry on with my game. Again, it turned off after a couple of turns and this happened two more times before I gave up. Has anyone else experienced this or know anything about it?

Please post your dxdiag. This is not the time to guess.

Your pc must be overheating from the dust/bad coolers, remove him outside and clean it up. or could be that your PSU is not supplying power enough to the hadware components, but we cannot be certain of anything if you would not post the dxdiag. go for the troubleshoot sticky to get more info on how to run a dxdiag.

Good advice, but now I can't even power up my computer. Does that suggest it's a PSU issue? I did upgrade my graphics card and PSU a while ago but it's been working ok for a good couple of months. Now I can't post my dxdiag because I can't get my computer running.

Do you still have your old psu and card handy? You can put your old card in and if it works, the new card could have problems, If it doesn't, put in the ols power supply, and if it works, the power supply is bad. If that doesn't work, bets are the motherboard just went.

Remove the graphics card and see if you can start computer. If you're lucky you have integrated graphics on your mobo, if the pc works then its your new GPU thats faulty. If it doesnt work, then you either dont have integrated graphics on your mobo, or your mobo is gone, or its your psu. Pretty hard to find out if you dont have the old ones

What i then suggest is go to a local pc store and ask if they can help you with finding out whats wrong. They probably got a spare PSU and stuff, so they can help you find out whats wrong here.

You will have now to borrow some pieces from friends to try to figure it out, but for me is just too much hassle, since you don't appear very knowledgeable about pcs ( no offense meant) go take it to a pc store and let them handle it.

If you wnat to do it your way, please ask a friend for his pc and this is a trial error procedure, you will test components in this order to see if they're functional.

Psu>motherboard>cpu>gpu>ram (very unlekely) this would eliminate the most probable cause being the psu going by by, or the motherboard

None taken, I'm not that knowledgeable. That's probably why I'm in this mess.
In the morning I'll try taking the graphics card out, I believe my motherboard has integrated graphics. Then I'll see if I can borrow/find a PSU

Edit: it's not the graphics card.
