Default Is there some reasonable and adult people ?

I saw, in some thread, a real nationalist hanger ! for example many British against France and French (insulting ...)
I can't imagine they is a majority of resentful people on this forum so I propose that the people who have a balanced and reasonable opinion, who are open minded and peaceful post a little message here for love and peace between us.

Kiss to all ! lol, Léo

Well there's a lot of resentful people that think the British are overpowered and shouldn't have won Waterloo and all that sort of crap. I've played the British in darthmod and I found it quite difficult.Lot of people with chips on both shoulders it seems.

I think Little Leo means real people with real resentful nationalists. All these are nonsense i say. We are all gamers playing from all over the globe. We should all love it that because of the internet so many of us are united and able to make friends. I am sure without the game or this website i wouldnt be able to be acquainted with our fine gentleman over here LittleLeo. =) Hello where are you from?

    You mean GWB?

I am the minority around here. I live in whitey country club republican land in Dallas...and I am a Democrat. But yeah, most peoples stereotypes of America are somewhat accurate, unfortunately.

Anyone noticed that the Americans are trying to take over the subject again?

I, for one, am German and sometimes just love picking on the cheese eating surrender monkeys French. You know, everything from an insufficient hygiene, eating vermin and speaking a language that sounds dirty and gay no matter what you are saying.

Or beating them in Total War games.

But I don't really mean it. It's just a source of cheap joy, and I claim it's the same for the vast majority of the people you can hear voicing these phrases. I know that you can't generalize a people, especially not on well-known stereotypes. A typical French person fits description above as much as I am a lederhosen- and pickelhaube wearing, pretzel and bratwurst eating, Jew bashing beer brewer with an inferiority complex and world ruler fantasies (this list could be continued...).

I'm only using the French as an outstanding example. There is absolutely no reason to dislike or even hate someone because he/she is a member of a certain people or was born in a certain place. I hereby clearly pledge for a united Europe and a united world free all these bad words ending on -ism you could bring up here.

Though, I certainly won't stop teasing the French or whatever ethnic I feel like.
In my case, it's humor, not hate.

A German falling on his arse only proves my point, Langen Karl! Seriously though, nationalism is like a little boy's contention that his father can whip the tar out of anybody: it's commendable and touching, but not to be taken seriously.

    would prove your point.

But seriously, I know what you're talking about. Almost everybody has an urge to "defend his nation" when somebody speaks ill of it, but the same is true for your home village, your car, your shoes, your school etc. even if you don't really like them yourself. You could see nationalism as an exaggeration of that. I'm somewhat proud of my country, but you really need to have a naive/romantic view to take this more seriously. There are more than enough people here I'd like to set myself apart from. Plus, contemporary German people have special problems developing some sort of patriotism (besides the neo-nazis, which are, thank God, few). You can guess why.

I was quite impressed upon reading about the difference in contemporary (18th century) naval tactics between the English, French and Spanish. I won't go into dull detail on this, but heartily recommend individual pursuit of education on that specific matter! The English impression of French cowardice has an interesting 'root' in those differences.
