Delete the scripts folder, delete all mods, start a new campaign.

After the new DLC only CTD.

Just made a new clean install of ETW but doesn't work.Still CTD on startup. Had the same problem after patch 1.2 and couldn't play until CA made a few days later a hotfix. OMG, do they ever learn ?

    1. The new patch will not work with mods unless they update them.
    2. The new dlc will not work with mods until they update them.
    3. All saves before the new patch will not work.

If it still ctds at startup, odds are you have an old script that needs to be deleted and/or a mod that needs to be deleted. Have you verified the cache integrity after doing this?

As i posted before I have a new clean vanilla installation of ETW. No Mods at the moment installed.
After the DLC came to my comp the game crashed immediatly.
So at "first aid" today i deinstalled steam completly from my comp and deleted all folders in "....\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly".

After this i made a complete Reinstallation from my Amazon DVD and waited until Steam finished all updates and DLC.

    CTD.

In this Moment only vanilla game.

Remove patch4.pack in the Data folder, I read somewhere that this fixes the CTD issue, although I can't find the source anymore.. But worth a try

Because that file came with the update. And I checked in windows explorer, sorted on date, and that file was indeed from the day i got the update so that makes sense.
