    Default Family Members in console

Hey everyone. I recently got Stainless Steel 6.1 and am psyched to play it. However, being very very obsessive about certain elements of gameplay, I need to edit some of my starting characters. My problem arises when I look up their names in the descr_strat of Stainless Steel and put those names in the console only to get character not found, or the console 'adding' the trait, but it not showing up on said character. So basically it either doesn't recognize the char. name or just doesn't give the trait even after I enter it correctly. I tested this over multiple factions, but the best ex. is HRE. There are 2 Heinrichs... one is Heinrich von ....., but there is no way to edit the prince Heinrich... Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

For the Princes and Kings you have to figure out their surnames by hovering over their children's pictures. For example, 'Prince Heinrich' won't be recognised by the console but 'Heinrich von_Smith' (eg) will be. Also note the underscore between the final two names. If it's a problem with the descr_strat files, I'm afraid you'll have to ask someone more technically minded than myself! Hope that's some help anyway

In the console you may have to replace the surname of the character in question with that of their father.

You must add a number after the trait, i.e. give_trait "Heinrich von_Hohenstaufen" "GoodCommander" 1

The number reflects the level, use 0 to remove traits (or remove_trait command)

OR, maybe, just try typing "give_trait this <insert trait>" while selecting the General.
What makes a real American? A cowboy hat? Enjoying a fine T-bone
steak? Going to a baseball game? Shooting a gun? Maybe it’s the freedom to go
into a poor country and tell them how to do things?! Heh! Those are all great
qualities! But one thing that makes a true patriot is the ability to choose
an American car! When you buy an import you take a hot meal off a hard
working American’s table. There, there! This poor girl is going
to starve to death, just because you bought a cheaper, more efficient
Maibazu. Without gross symbols of excess, what will Americans have to look up
to? Our great industries is a threaten! Cars, pornography, armaments! And
they need your help! So the next time you buy a car, a piece of adult
literature or a missile defense system! Make sure you do the American thing!

I know how to enter the names in the console. For some reason, these names do NOT require underscores like other consoles in Rome and Medieval 2. For example, Heinrich von Somethingsomething is actually entered into the console as "Heinrich von Somethingsomething". As for the number, I know all about entering traits, and the numbers are not the problem here. The problem is that there are 2 Heinrichs. The son of the emperor would most likely have the same surname as his father, this is the problem. Heinrich the elder works as "Heinrich von Somethingsomething", but I cannot figure out the name for the younger. Also, the problem I mentioned with the correct name being entered is a problem too. I'll enter the name correctly (as I know it is correct because it doesn't say character name not found) but the trait will not update on the actual character.

The problem here is that Heinrich the younger is listed in the descr_strat as Heinrich. JUST HEINRICH. But when I enter give_trait "Heinrich" GoodTaxman (or whatever trait), it doesn't update.

As I said earlier, give him his father's surname when you use the console.

I get the surname. What I'm saying is if I use the father's surname, that gives the trait to the father. I can't type Heinrich von_Somethingsomething to give a trait to Heinrich the younger, cause it will just give the trait to the father. So how do I give the trait to the son? I tried what is written in the descr_strat document to no avail.

As Halbard wrote, move Heinrich the younger somewhere outside of a city, have hom selected when you open the console, and type this instead of his name.
As in give_trait this alcoholic 3

    it still should be
    give_trait this "GoodCommander" 3
    The Enemy of Human Souls

For Hell had been annexed of late,
And was a sovereign Southern State.
