    Ok, I posted a few hints and screenshots in my skymod thread, so i'm going to separate this project from that, so it's less confusing.

    I started to edit the buildings, settlements and the walls in a hope that i can make everything burn away.

    I have been testing this along with my skymod project, but this one takes a lot more time, because there are several files and settings involved, not to mention to find out how to set things on fire, which aren't meant to burn.

    This mod is made for pyromaniacs like me, who truly want to sack a city.

    So my progress:

    I manage to get almost everything to burn away and turn on fire from a few shots of the fire onagers.

    I can get the wooden walls to burn also, they burn away to nothing, as i can easily change what kind of rubble they should become after they collapse.
    I can also control the collapsing animation, I can use a small or large collapsing.

    What i am still working on:
    To have the stone walls turn on fire.
    To have the archers able ignite the buildings (with fire arrows)
    To have the trees catch on fire (settlement only)
    To have the roads catch on fire (so it's like a trap)
    So far everything else burns away, with a few exeptions of some large buildings, which rather just collapse, but they used to be indestructable.

    Wow Archer...u done it again dis is pretty crazy though having everything burn...wonder how it would look like when everything is burned down[as in the settlements] it probably look like a mess...but u have to start all over building the settlement all over again though right? unless u just leave it alone to the rebels...well Archer keep up the good work and cant wait for this mod to comeout aswell as ur skymod...

    Wow, you know you need to get thsi finished so SPQR can use it! lol ;-)

    I dont agree with Roads or Stone walls burning its a little too much, but wooden walls is a great idea. Also Burning of bulding like The palaces etc. bUT WHAT EFFECT owuld it have if you destroyed a building that should be destroyed? like a palace? would all the buildings not work correct would be be able to rebuild the palaces etc. Would population be effected, like in when you add a building in the strat file and its about your core building?

    Just curious. Love the look though, complete sack of Carthage!

    Wooden walls should not burn... they were often laminated for that very purpose... I forgot the details but I certainly remember that Romans used a type of solution against fire when erecting walls for their makeshift forts. As for everything else I think its fantastic! A city should get completely sacked... I just wish there were ways to carry this over to keep the buildings completely destroyed in a city

    Wooden walls would still burn if the heat gets high enough, even some metals eg. aluminium burn if the heat gets high enough.

    Either way, as Archer says, it's not so much realism as pyromania that is at the heart of this

    It could be both realism and pyropleasure but I am thinking of gameplay as well... if walls burn might as well mod them out

    Looks fantastic. Being able to burn down the wooden walls if definately a great idea - noticed in your pics that the gates still seem to be standing though when the rest of the wall has burnt away.

    I said it once and I'll say it again, you are genius Archer. This is another ground breaking event in RTW. When this mod is finished, provinces can now be truly sacked. Good job man.

    .....well, thanks guys!

    It took me several days and a bunch of editing to figure out what turns things on fire.

    What should burn (exceptions of the rock walls and the roads right now)
    I can control the fire in a few ways:

    I can prolong it a bit (so as it burns longer to fall apart)

    How many shots it takes to turn on fire

    I can make the wooden walls burn away into rubble, but your units still won't go through (neither if it's burns to nothing), because only the selected path (the part which the ram takes down and the gate) they will use.

    What i also made with the rock walls (which I can't burn yet) is to be completely destroyed. I can make a watchtower come down and fall into rubbles (or any section of the wall), but again, your units won't be able to enter there, only through the pre-selected paths (the straight section and the gate)

    So far, I only tested this mod in custom games, so i can't speak about what it causes in the campaign game, but i'll let you know soon!

    There are just so many things to test and so many settings, that I have to make up my mind which one to do first

    Archer, you have saved BI for me! Now my goths can truely sack Roma and my Persians Constantinople! Now if we could only find a way to get screaming and running citizens in the citys then sieges would be perfecto.

    Very industrious of you, but you were not the one starting an informative thread with screenshots. Knowledge is one thing, sharing knowledge is another thing entirely. And the thread starter shared the knowledge first, and should probably be the one to proceed, in view of the presentation format, and initiative. That is my opinion, at any rate.

    No no, I'm interested what he has to say, because it took me a while to figure it out, but because the Zhanguo : Total war has new buildings, so i'm not suprised he knows. But I don't call it "easy" to do, especially finding it out on my own what has to be done and how. It is also easy to make a ballpen, but it was not so easy inventing the ballpen, otherwise we would have been using it for hundreds of years and not 60.

    By the way, the game is out for a year now, and i'm suprised no one tried this yet, and even though some already knows this, they didn't share it or say anything about it, until i started to mess around and poste a thread. And I'm ready to share it as soon as i adjust everything in a nice balanced way, so you gonna have my files and see what has to be done. And I'll let you know how change it, just like i shared my skymod's function, which no one really asked how I do, but still the info is available somewhere in my skymod's thread (trivium projects).
