RTW, EB, STEAM
So I bought RTW on steam a few weeks ago and I want to install EB. I downloaded EB and I put the mod and the patch with it in Computer> Local Disk C > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Rometotal war gold
And I click on the single player shortcut and it just says "can't find steam."

I put this "-mod:eb -show_err" from http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=208150 in the place they said to but when I tried to do a single player battle vs the AI all the factions had the same troops all mixed up and it said 1.1 version. It's all a jumbled mess.

Now i tried uninstalling EB...and some stuff is gone, other isn't and I don't know what the heck to delete and what belongs where....so i deleted every RTW thing from my steam and all the EB stuff is gone too I guess.
Can someone walk me through getting all this done nice and clean?

Custom battles using the correct unit line ups with a Steam install require swapping your edu, then swapping back again for campaign. I don't play custom battles so I'm not 100% on the details, did you try a campaign? Your install was probably ok.
As for still being 1.1, when you select the file path for 1.2, there is a part you need to delete before installing, it's at the end of the file path and will be pretty obvious when you read it.

i can't say for custom battles, but
you need to have steam updated 100%, same with R:TW. then, install EB 1.1 to steam/steamapps/common/rome total war gold
then, install EB 1.2 to the same place. make sure that you remove the 'this is where you install EB to' bit: it needs to be removed manually else it will make a folder inside there called 'ths is where you install EB to' or w/e. then, put in that command line into the launch option for R:TW (right click on R:TW, hit properties, then set launch options, its somewhere there). then you're done.

I got it to work. So far the campaign seems good. I just started a few without saving to see if it works. Now the problem is trying to figure out which to play first. Thanks both of you
