Tip #1: Stop posting your vague ideas on the internet, develop your ideas, and actually start writing.
DNah mate, I say go for it, just keep writing, altough I wouldnt show my work so soon if it was me, see, books are like wine, after you complete one, you ahve to let it rest for a while. Then check it out again and see the flaws etc...
I´m in the process if writing a short novel myself, 200 pages and 6 months after I am near to completion, no one has seen even a glimpse from it. But I liked what I read here. You have potential.

heh 200 pages isn't short, depending on the font i guess. 200 pages at an 11 Times New Roman will put you down to about 155000 words. The average novel is 75000.
*Checks document* ah yes very accurate sir, I thought it was short for some reason, I am writing in Times New Roman n°12 btw, so spot on MrMofo!
