    Default Jesus @ desert.

So I have to do a lesson about Carnaval, and I need the story about Jesus wandering in the desert.

I tried to find it, knowing that he was there to repellish from his sins and on the way met the devil or something... but can anyone provide me with the Psalm which describes his journey?

"Just searching for a world with some soul..."

You're probably thinking of Matthew 4:1-11, not any Psalm.

The Bible describes it as being the temptation of Christ. Whether physically or in vision the devil carries Jesus off to certain areas where he tempts Him with the word " if " Showing Jesus in a weakened state the devil three times uses " if " as if to prove a point that He the Son of God needed the Father to release Him from the tempter.

Yet Jesus resisted in each case with replies that Satan had no answer to. The most important aspect is however had Jesus relented on any, even just one, the crucifixion would have been impossible, no-one could have been saved at all. That was the devil's guile, to make the weakened Saviour give in to His humanity in power, hunger or greed and in that he failed.

Silly Jesus, should have gone for it, would have been much more beneficial to humanity had he assumed a position of global influence and power.

    TheXand,

Being King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega, Lord God Almighty, suits Him just fine.

Becuase that'd make too much sense. It'd be better to appear to a pair of illiterate, hysterical women and a gang of poverty stricken cultists rather than somewhere in china perhaps and to someone that could actually spread the message further than 32% of the world after 2000 years.

Of course! Jesus' Christhood was the unity of the divine with the human. To become some emperor would have posited Jesus as in specific communion with the divine rather than as an exemplar of the general relationship between the divine and man that Christianity is predicated upon. The Christian message logically could not have been spread by any other than a person who was Christ from an insignificant background. Really, familiarise yourself with some theology if you want to make intelligent contributions.
