i was thinking cockroaches too, since it isn't so insane to think that a nuclear holocaust, or other holocaust event might occur, caused by man on the relative scale of evolution. also because a large proportion of their genetic information has remained unchanged for a very long period of time.

but then i thought that perhaps it is man, since, i think, there is a chance that a large proportion of his genetic information may leave the stars and potentially outlive the earth. but then if he were to, assuming he doesn't destroy himself, then perhaps he will take cockroaches with him, in which case it comes back to the cockroaches.

that's not clever. you're suggesting that it's clever to be un-subjective, that it is unwise to see certain animals as better than others according to a particular definition. how do you know that this is so. have you discovered that the entire set of possible questions composed of the range of possible definitions within my head were completely unwise life past times for all members of our race.

well it depends on who you are. if you're a christian, then it's an intellectual question that makes you ask questions like, do animals sin ? if the bible says that during the fall of man, the lamb ceased to lay down with the lion, then is animals eating each other somehow considered not perfect, and yet animals are said to not have souls, so what does that actually mean. if you're an atheist who isn't particular connected to his species, then perhaps it makes you wonder about what better, genetically altered more beautiful or perhaps more happy ecosystems might look like. perhaps it makes you think about what the natural history of the future might look like. i'm kinda interested in the idea that evolution is about a core set of genetics and therefore the real survival story is about a whole class organism not just it's present particular ephemeral manifestation and so perhaps it makes you think about which of these groups has or will or both do the best at perpetuating it's self. or perhaps you just have a completely un-self aware, psycho-emotional response to the beauty of certain organisms over others.
