    Default BAD Lag

So I installed the game and about the first 10x I played the game play it was smooth, On the global map and on the battlefield. It seems that after I did the American Revolution Campaign my game has really become laggy. Like after each turn my game stutters. It continues throughout the campaign while I'm moving around the map and on the battlefield.

I re-installed the game and got no results. Also turned down all the settings to LOW and no results.
How do I delete my profile so I can dump the American Revolution Campaign status.

I don't get lag in any other game. Not in Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike Source, and Pro Evolution 2010

I believe you can delete the saves in one of the Empire folders!

How far in the campaign that you are? if it's late game it's pretty normal, the battles are larger and the campaign map more populated. You can start a new campaign and see it for yourself.

If it's not take a look at how your pc is doing, go to the troubleshoot sticky thread, and see some of the issues that are there, and have you uninstalled right?

What res are you playing at?

Cpu is a tad weak and wouldnt say the gpu is all that powerfull, saying that depends on the resolution used. If 1280x1024 should be ok...

Could be drivers used. 181.22 is apparently the best for nvdia, check out the nvidia driver section.

use one of these and stick on the fps monitoring and report back with what you get..

sufficed to say though empire is a graphics hog and just because you can play call of duty doesnt mean you can play empire, moreover the game itself is a "totalheadache" to get working at maximum perf. i know

(even the campaign is laggy for me in places, badly done am afraid).

Look at the Dxdiag, he is playing at 1280*1024

He need to take a look at the troubleshoot sticky, in there he will find the right way to reinstall, and another things. Read it through!

His card is good enough at that resolution but at 60Hz, not 75Hz.

The bottleneck is the processor. 2.13g versus the game's specs 2.4g.

Its a dual core 2.13 so hes really got almost double the processing specs
I have similar stats to this guy ~ and similar problems.

I can play more demanding games than total war like RE5, batman AA, Dawn of War 2, Cod6, with high settings with around 40+ FPS.

I think the problem is a buggy game engine - which is somewhat understandable b/c there's a million things going on in the grand campaign. I've seen threads where people have better CPU/GPU and they still have lag problems - less, but they still do.
