    Introduction:
    Dear brothers of the Steel that never stains,

    Time has come for change...
    Tired of the old "vanilla" 2D interfaces for SS6.1, SS6.2, SS/RR/RC or whatever submod you use ?

    Well maybe you would be interested by this.

    All the 2D interfaces you see in the strategic map and the battle map, one per culture (northern_european, southern_european, middle_eastern, etc) are redone.

    Important Note: This is compatible with SS6.3, SS6.1 and will be with SS6.2, SS/RR/RC, Battle for the Baltic.
    This submod is compatible with Eye Candy v2.0 from y2day (his excellent faction emblems are included in this submod, with his permission, thanks again to him). So before downloading this, you should definitely download Eye Candy v2.0 from y2day, unless you want some messy 2D interface And if you like the faction emblems, rep him.

    Just extract into your M2TW\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\ui folder.
    Note: i will make an hotfix for SS6.2 & RR/RC (with timurid flag) and for Battle for the baltic (with sweden flag).


    Patch for Battle for the Baltic 2.0 (for SS6.1).

    It changes the splash & menues, and all the ui's (with the ones of E2DI).
    It also fixes missing unit info card for Sweden knight templars and updates the unit card for Swedish scandinavian men at arms.

    It must be extracted under your Battle for the Baltic mod folder (normally Stainless_Steel_6).

    Note: I have updated the splash/menu a bit (helmet blends better now), you can download it here

    Hmmm in fact that is the idea of those new interface, to be reconciliated with colours

    I was really tired of the old dull interfaces, and for me middle-age not necessarily mean gray and sad. I already tuned down the brightness of colours to give a dirty look. I don't really think they are flashy or too coloured, the balance is quite ok IMO, imagine you are on a jousting tournament, imagine all the banners and shields weared by the soldiers, they were very coloured.

    Colours, my friend, colours are the key! But i am not trying to convince you, just i give you my own view.

    Wow.... This is absoulutely stupendous!!!!Thank you thank you, thank you..{guess I think it don't totally suck}. I'll throw a link to here from the campaign guide. a question though...

    Like I'm running SS6.2. would their be a compatability issue????????????

    like the colourfulness.

    has a medieval feel to it - lots of primary colours.
    I don't think anyone ever accused medieval people of good taste when it came to colours.
    bright and gaudy seems to be the way they liked it.

    Great work, I agree it is a little too colorful for my taste. I have started creating new UI's for SS several times but have never released. Maybe I will release an alternative. Good job Cedric!

    @Rozanov: much thanks for this excellent link, mate! And happy that some people share my taste for colours

    @y2day: thanks, i am impatient to see your alternative ui's. It is always good to let people some choice, the more choice the better. My ui's will aim at being more colourfull but i understand that other people prefer less coloured ui's, so that will be perfect if you propose such ui's.
    And of course, most people will stick with the "old" ui's anyway

    I get an idea though; i am just curious: what would you change in my current ui (it is not finished yet but you can tell from what have been done) to make it more to your taste ?
