Enjoying Empire Total WAr

I have this game for a month now. I guess it is a very good game but I am still not getting around to enjoying it much. The last strategy game I really enjoyed was Civilization 4 which I started playing 4 years ago and still occasionally play. I can't believe how addictive Civilization 4 was. I would play the whole weekend without eating food or sleeping. Is Empires Total War anything like it or is it just that I am unable to get over the learning curve fast enough. I am playing the road to independence right now and I am winning battles pretty easily. What would be best way to learn and get immersed into the game?

MP is great
and if ure fiding the campaign too easy try VH/VH where the AI gets huge bonuses

Yeah, don't forget that RTI is only the tutorial... you're not really supposed to lose the battles there.

Hi there.
Not true. Try RTI, both chapter 3 and 4, on VH/VH and tell me how you are not supposed to get wipped the first 15-20 turns.
And to the OP: An introduction campaign to the real GC would be GB or Prussia on normal/normal.
