I hate to break it to you, but that quote comes from 2007...

When thinking logically, it would be reasonable to expect a Rome 2 after Napoleon. When we see Napoleon as the Empire expansion that it is at some if not most points, we must conclude that after this CA will use the new technologies for a new game in another era.
This can't be the world-war period because they'd have to invent a system to fight with land, air and naval units on one terrain which is impossible, and fans wouldn't like it because the game would ehm... be not very good.
After the succes of RTW and the repeating of MTW in Medieval II Total War, it seems very logical to me that after Empire CA's got only one option: R2TW. And of course that would be awsome, who hasn't dreamed about classical naval battles and R2TR?![]()

They might reinvent Empire, though that would be a PR disasterI hope they do do R2TW, because there is a lot they can do which can't be done at the moment.

I hope it will be like a big expansion for total war like what we have currently. The vanilla was a total disaster... I never went back to there, after I found Plantinum.
I think that's with every vanilla when you've found a great mod like this... the point is that we take the time to devellop our products, and CA has those stupid timelimits and 'all-must-be-good-for-gameplay' tick...![]()

Not to mention that they pay people and are under pressure to ship a product reasonably quickly for that reason.

I don't think they'd do that. Rome 2 would be far more succesful imo, because the Roman era is much more popular.

RTR RULES!!!!
Hopefully it will be modable...
Still, it looks cool

Why don't we write a letter to CA, that if they might make R2TW they should include a mod-kit![]()

And if they don't listen we're going to create R2TW on our own![]()
If we just had those funds.... we could buy CA! How much would they ask for it? Can't be a lot after Empire![]()

I hope they keep the cheat system, cause they totally killed it in ETW. You know for my fantasy games and when AI is too stupid to realize that they should declare a ceasefire.
I have 5 dollars in my pocket, some chap stick and a pack of gum. That should cover it![]()

Wasn't Empire both critically and commercially successful? I mean, I know that Total War's hardcore fans were disappointed, but I don't think the industry considers it bad, right?
