What Religious belief are you?

You know it's come to my attention that there are alot of conflicting views going on because of the topic of religion and subjects it ties into. I'm pretty sure me as a die hard but understanding follower of Christ has a couple times in the past made someone uncomfortable and or otherwise on this site before. So I feel like we should disclose this stuff now so everyone has a list of who's who.

I'm not here to try and convert any of you using this thread (unless you want me to, in which then I will PM u). I just would like to know so I can avoid making anyone uneasy.

Well for me, I am a confirmed Lutheran; though I prefer to follow my own ideals on some manners of how priests teach. For example. a lot of people at my church do not like heavy metal like Slipknot and or otherwise. I on the other hand love Slipknot and all it's awesomeness, yet I don't believe in the lyrics or take it as a hindrance to my faith. That is why I listen to it while others in my church don't.

I suppose that I would be a strong atheist. Though if any gods took the time out to actually speak to humanity themselves and not through dodgy prophets/conmen like Mohammed or Jesus I might reconsider.

I'm a convinced atheist, although not a strong atheist. I don't think that there is any proof that gods do not exist, but there is certainly no proof that gods do exist - thus I lack belief.
I was raised by parents who'd call themselves agnostics, who never forced me into any particular religious events or lifestyles, and I have therefore made my own conclusions.

Atheist, I can see nothing anwhere that would even remotely hint at the possibility of a Creator, as such, I conclude he does not and cannot exist until proven otherwise. I think the idea that "There's no proof he doesn't exist either" is giving far too much credit to a ludicrous idea, there's no proof that Middle Earth doesn't exist either, shall I keep my mind open about that as well?

You know, we had a Philosophical/Religious Profile thread, which basically did exactly this. But then it was unstickied and drifted several pages away. I guarantee, if it were still around, we wouldn't have a "What's your religion?" thread every other month or so. BTW, that doesn't make this thread a bad idea- since there is no stickied thread for it, it helps to have a thread asking this every once in a while for clarity's sake.

Anyway. To answer the OP: I am a traditionalistic solitary practitioner of Wicca, a neopagan witchcraft-centred religion formed by Gerald Gardner in Great Britain during the 1940's; it developed out of the Western Occult revival of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and has since continued development as a vibrant and active part of the polytheistic revival movement of the 20th century. For much of its history, Wicca has been conflated with Traditional Witchcraft, and has been a initiatory mystery religion; however, since the 1980's, there have been an increasing amount and acceptance of solitary practitioners. This has, interestingly, helped Wicca to maintain a coherent and identifiable structure and quality despite it having no central organisation outside of loose associations of covens. To this day, Wicca is defined more by consistent practices rather than by universally-held beliefs; though certain beliefs are implied by the practices, such as polytheism and witchcraft.

Theologically, I am a hard polytheist with some panentheist leanings; this means that I believe the gods are individual beings, or most of them are anyway, but they are still connected by a divine energy that emanates through them and the physical universe, the source of which is a much simpler Prime Mover. One who is familiar with Western esoterica would notice that this is similar to Hermeticism and Thelema- and with good reason; Gerald Gardner was well-versed in Hermetic beliefs and practices, and integrated them into Wicca.

Watchmaker argument. Ancient and totally flawed. The hallmark of design is simplicity, not complexity; and we have nothing to compare biological "design" to which can lead us to definitively say that we are designed.
He also says that because you can interpret the Qu'ran in such a way as to get some basic facts correct that it means the whole thing is true. Absolutely ridiculous.
