    Default How do schools work?

One of my generals has the "Sophomore" trait which says he can still go to schools are whatever. Do I just put him in a town with a school? What does the school do?

Schools have a chance to give the character good traits, such as "Basic Western Education" and similar. Chars with the "administratively minded" trait will easier gain these traits from schools. Better sending the military ones to castles.
Increasing the level of the school to university or comparable(such a lyceum) can give additional good traits such as bachelor of arts.
The "sophomore" trait is part of the trait series that show that your character can still gain the good traits from schools. Also junior and senior?(Junior being the second year makes no sense, but then again aren't those definitions from american highschool?

If your gonna invest time & micromanagement into scholling your characters picking a main school/university town might be worthwhile. The school line of buildings takes a bit of time to contruct and personally I always seem to find other contructs that jump ahead of schooling...

I'm speaking of the early part of the campaign's {1st 100 turn's or so.} When I say this...

A basic school seems enough to me... since every character is limited in amount of ancillaries they can carry and schools really only benefit administratively minded generals at most building a few basic schools in various corners of an empire seems enough to get a character started and experience usually fills the other slots within a few turns.

Is there any point in developing to universities or is there anything past that even? Libraries same thing... basic level seems useful enough if even that is ever needed.

Yes, there is a point in building universities. I often build them in my capital (or another big city) capable of building either the Great Library or the 3d tier school. I put all my characters that come of age there, let them gain the basic/standard/bachelor trait line, at best at level three (most often they'll have to stay some time before they get this one). Also, sometimes the excistance of a university seems to affect the coming of age of characters, in a positive way.

Indeed I always fins something else to build aswell. Though I will usually build a school in every other city or so after a while, pretty much allowing most chars to get to a school with in one turn.
Example Say I have three cities in southern Brittan I would only build a school in one as this is enough for any character that comes of age in this region, results may vary .

And a little question aswell. A bit offtopic but what is this rep thing?

Right then...the lowdown about Rep. {rolls up sleeves}. If you look under my avatar{da horsey} you'all see three crowns. Das the rep of that particular member. There's also a cute little saying if you hold your mouse pointer over the crowns.
Reputation has two parts 1. the visible cookie you get when someone reps you and 2. the rep comment which you may see by going under My Account {top left hand corner of screen} and then scrolling down til you arrive at the rep comment list. In this case I repped you for your contribution to this thread. After say 5 rep comments you will get a rep ring which will manifest under your avatar, if you have the option turned on... the more rep you get the more cookies are shown. it's just a fun little feature here for the that wish to vuse it.

BTW. do you know about page skins..??..Scroll down the lefthand side of your screen until you see the yelloow donation buttion and then look right at the scroll down thingy. click on a few different names and find the forum skin that suites you best. My favorite happens to be rahl's skin...
