He's picked up one or two issues with the map and I suggested that he might like to have a look at things to see whether he can pick up any more errors / glitches. He would be willing to help out.

    1) Are people OK with that?
    2) Apple, could you upload the current beta for him to download please? He is averse to using SVN.

Absolutely. He's been very 'sharp-eyed' and helpful.

With regard to the map, I wish in many ways that we were back with the old war map - I can't help feeling that there are a load of unencountered problems out there waiting.

    We'll see I guess.

I've asked him a long while ago if he wanted to do some beta testing for us and he gently refused maybe tone might be a little bit more persuasive than me he he he.

    One. Hundred. Percent. Yes.

In my time at the RTR forums, florin was often the most helpful person ever.

I recall that he said that he wanted to but just didn't have time for helping out at rs. If he do got time now then a huge yes from me.

He was going to completely redo all the unit sounds - he's said there are around 105 units with sound errors, and then said he didn't have time and then sent me this:

Actually, it annoys me greatly for failing at it. If you want I`ll try to do it from scratch and finish it by the end of next week at the latest. But I need to know if you actually need that and if you have any particular request. I don`t want to spend the time and then hear that it was better when the scythian noble cavalry was saying "noble archers" than after I`m done with it and will say "scythian nobles". Or something like this.
Maybe get him to send the list of units with problems?

You mean the list of 105 units that have no voice or improper voice? I`ve actually wrote the unit names on a piece of paper while I was loading all the units in battles and clicking on them. It would take some time to write it again in notepad...
The thing is that those units were not necessarily missing entirely from edsuv. Some were implemented but for types of voice that did not correspond to those from the EDU and as a result nothing was loaded in game. I had assumed that they`ve simple not been included at all, but that wasn`t always the case.
My proposal would be to take the vanilla rtw edsuv file, open your EDU and code all your units again in export_descr_sounds_units_voice, each unit for each of the 4 voice types so that if you later change your mind and want to change something in the EDU from light voice to heavy for example you`d not have to deal with the edsuv again. It`s a bullet proof plan that would guarantee no unit is left out because instead of checking them in game I would actually include piece by piece every unit from your EDU. Naturally, the choice of speech for each unit(what name they say when you click them) will largely have to be mine.
To me that would be much simpler than to sort out the present situation. It would only involve the edsuv sounds file(and no other) and I offer to do it during the next days(maybe a week in all) if you want to. If not I`ll just write you the list of units I found to be lacking in game and leave it to you to sort things out.

When florin80 does something he certainly does it properly. He is known for finishing off (completing) mods that would not have otherwise seen the light of day. I think he may have been burnt by some in-team politicing in the past so tends to avoid working in teams.

I'm glad we work so well as a team then - we all know who's in charge of what, and who's good at what.

And I know that I, got one, try and not step on anybody's toes.

Thanks Tone. Being away from home all week my time at the weekends is at a premium and I'm not using it as I should (paperwork). Being employed again is enjoyable. At the moment I'm redownloading RSII Beta as the original install is gett all sorts of 'do a clean up' messages and when I do a clean up I'm getting some errors.

I've been trying to catch up with progress - it still looks good.
