I have tried my luck at getting hotseat to work (using methods that worked with every other mod), but I have had no success. I got the hotseat menu to show up, but once you click on a faction, it crashes.

In the conquest.cfg there are several options that refer to multi-player and hot seating.

Try opening the conquest.cfg using notepad and change

[multiplayer]
playable = false

to

[multiplayer]
playable = true

and let me know if this allows hotseating.
