    I think even the swiss faction will be in, at least you see a colored spot on where they should be.
    In empire the part of the map was to crowded to place a city and villages over there, but since the map of Europe is bigger now it should also be easily possible.

    The faction will be there. Ive seen a screen with the diplomatic tab open and Switzerland is on it. But I cant find the screen now :/ its on the forum somewhere tho

    i saw a screenshot (of the tutorial i believe) where switzerland is a faction in the diplomatic menu

    ...and the new preview picture (the one with the British and Austrian armies facing off in Denmark) shows an independent faction in the Swiss region.

    I doubt if the Swiss will be playable though.

    Which, although they wouldn't my first choice as a playable minor faction, I still occasionally like taking a swing at the big boys with those one and two province factions. =)

    they are not one of the confirmed factions, but i bet modable

    our glorious time was more or less gone at the napoleonic age, still many elite foreign units were swiss. we were conquered by napoleon with nearly no opposition, because there was a civil war going on. napoleon then immediately introduced his Code Civil and switzerland became a republic. so im really looking forward to see them, and to try not be sweeped away in no time
