Just had a look at some other sites, and you can get NTW for £18.00 from Play.com, but this one has a code to unlock Prussia Towarczys Lancers.

Imperial Edition at Play.com is £30.00.

I get the feeling that most retailers will probably stick to the £17.99 price point.

Uhm, how is 17 pounds 40 canadian dollars? Its actually around 32ish? And 32 bucks for this game is much cheaper than here in Canada. The retailers here are pricing it at 44.99 plus tax, so its 32 bucks vs 50 retailer (including tax). 32 bucks isn't bad, but I probably won't get it.

I just converted the amound in my head using the exchange rate before the recession (because thats the last time I went to europe). Well then Its quite the deal, perhaps I should order from there and ship it here.

If you wait a month it'll probably be 19.99 CAN on Steam...

Amazon is curently selling the Imperial Edition for £37.66 in the UK (just down from £39.99). When I pre-ordered the price was £29.99, which is what I will be paying when the game is despatched to me on 26 Feb.

That's en stupid. Defeats the whole point of PRE-ORDERING.

It's a trade off, and it's part of doing business. Sales tend to fall off (obviously) pretty quickly so dropping the price only makes sense.

Pre-ordering is a gimmick as far as I'm concerned. It takes advantage of people who are compulsive and require instant gratification (both products of modern society). Think about it - you've waited a year for this game - what's one more month. For that matter, what's two more months? Or three?

Think about how oftne you have pre-ordered a game - or bought it within the first week - only to stop playing it after two or three weeks?

In the last 13 years I can remember three games out of dozens that I bought where I was still playing them after a few weeks - Close Combat III, BF2, and MTW2. Any other title - including ETW - where I compulsively purchased it on release - was not worth the premium I paid to have it in my hands first!

However - it's only money. If you have extra to burn, go bananas - pre-order it! I'm a little more frugal in my old age, so waiting another 30 days to (possibly) save 25-50% is not an issue for me.

Yeah, I think so. The thing with Amazon is that you can pre-order months in advance; have a guaranteed price deal, in that it can come down but won't ever go up; get the bonus package (the grand battery); and best of all, I don't pay a penny until the game is dispatched to me and can cancel the order at anytime prior to dispatch. I ain't complaining.
