How to speed up battles?
I noticed that a few mods have the same issue: you can't speed up battles anymore?
I usually like to speed up the boring getting from A to B part by pressing the 2x or 6x, but XGM is one of those mods were I can't find this function.
My question: how do I turn it back on?

I'm pretty sure there is a keyboard shortcut for that, but I cant remember it right now. Will try it later today and get back to you (if someone else haven't solved your problem beforehand).

I don't know if there is an automatic keyboard shortcut (you can set it however, I always do), but if you aren't using the minimized UI (where it's on the top), there are buttons near the hourglass that speed up the battle.
Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.

it's ctrl + t to speed up to max and the same to slow down again. I'm pretty sure that's default. It's visible on the UI if you use the regular type.
