Napoleonic French Eagles

CA have told one of our TWC members at SF event, that the French do not carry eagles, when the eagles where more important than the flag, I think this is unnacceptable, and probably the biggest historical innacuarcy, since one of the most important symbols of la Grande Armee was the eagle! I am very upset as it should have been a priority above uniforms! As Wellington said, "One of those French Eagles is worth 1000 men!"

To be honest, I'm surprised. They had Eagles in RTW, why not in NTW?

I know, thats why I'm on a crusade for the eagle standard!

We've already been told there will be NO Eagles in the game, Nore is there any time likely left to add them nore do i feel that they will use any extra time if they had it to add them....I would have loved the take the french eagle and gain a battle field honor for a unit, But alas this is not to be, So lamenting yes, Spaming No. Let it Go.

I already said they were not being added, maybe, hopefully if we can support the idea, it might be added in a patch!

I am very surprised there are no Napoleonic French Eagles just like in RTW when modders had to create the legionary eagle units themselves despite being on top of the selectable unit banner. Cossacks II:- Napoleonic Wars had a very accurate potrayal of the French Napoleonic Eagles, but a shame the battle for Europe mode sucked.

Anyway i looking forward to see what modders can do with NTW and sort this out by putting eagles in just like in RTW i hope

no eagles? in NAPOLEON total war?? but steam ships and submarines are ok?where does ca get its research,the simpsons?this game is a joke.

the good old cossacks 2 napoleonic wars, ones of my fav stategic games back then,
huges battles with ten thousands of soldiers.. you just lost control in so many units, loved it.

Cossacks was very good but extremely bugged.

Cossacks was actually pretty damn good for its time. At the time, most RTS games featured factiosn that were mirror images of one another with few exceptions, where Cossacks featured fully fleshed out sides. Also, cossacks put a lot more units on screen than most games did back then.

But, like all things digital, it faded.

I tried giving MTWII a spin last night, and it really seemed archaic compared to ETW...

Cossacks cost is exactly one exam (world literature), my schoolmate just could not hold his horses and actually whispered to me how is it possible that my pikemen were destroyed and his were not... Nostalgy...sorrow

This is a bummer hopefully our modders can remedy this day one.

Remember though that not every French battalion had an eagle. Only the first battalion of every regiment carried an eagle in battle.

No eagle?! That would be something the modders could fix, seems kinda lazy of CA though. Would be easy enough to implement I'd imagine.

Seems to be a pattern with CA. Family tree->no family tree, Eagles->no eagles

Stuff that was in previous games, somehow gets left out. One would think that you keep these little features and add new ones with earch game.

Ok modders can put it in there but I want the message coming up like in RTW telling me I won a eagle and they won't rest until they get it back etc ...

Start the petition : 'Give Us Eagles' or I'll say I won't buy this game (even though it's paid for on pre-order )
