It's done by having 70 units representing the 35 legions (35 for regular cohorts and 35 for first cohorts).

Iīm also interested about this, havenīt played the game before, but may try RS2.

How many of these units can you train per legion?
And when you write about regular and first cohorts, are there no Hastati, Principes and Triarii?

You can train an unlimited number as long as you have the population in the city they are being recruited from. Most people have their own house rules to limit them on the number though. The Regs and 1sts Cohorts are the Post Reform legions. You get the Hastati, Principes, and Triarii before the reforms at the start of the game.
Now if you have any more questions I advise you to play RS 1.6a, the way RTW was meant to be played.

Hastati, Principes, and Triarii are all in the game in the pre-Marian Reforms part of a Roma campagin! Don't miss out on something great like RS1.6a, its a work of art in its own right!

Thanks, but how do you actually recruit the legions? Is it a 0 turn build time like SPQR or what?

Each legion is normally made up of 9 legionary cohorts, 1 first cohort and then a medley of cavalry, auxillia and a general. When people say that a legion is recruitable in 1.6 they mean that you can form an army that is like a legion. Instead of vanilla where all legionary cohorts looked the same, each cohort in RS 1.6 has its own character e.g. 1 unit represents Legio XX Valeria so once you have 9 Valeria cohorts, one Valeria 1st cohort and the other troops you will have an army which is effectively a legion.

    See this example:

    ...hope that makes sense!

Thanks! I had thought you guys meant that you could recruit a whole legion at once or something.

So basically it's just like SPQR where each legionnary unit is named or numbered, and can't be replenished at any city. But you guys have different skins for each legionnary I take it.
