Well, after seeing some of the latest screenshots i can still see jaggys eveywhere, the most annoying being the muskets and buildings. So i was wondering, is it because the pcs these were taken on didnt have say 4x or 8x anti aliasing enabled or is it because anti aliasing is still a broken feature like in ETW?
Im not saying aa is completely broken of course but why does it have so little effect compared to other games and even other total wars like medieval 2?

indeed, there are no jaggies in your screenshot Greve Af Göteborg, though i have a feeling the weather/lighting condition is dust or something similar in that one. Ive noticed that graphical glitches arise from certain lighting conditions (depending on time of day) and weather conditions in etw.

Yes on ATI cards anti aliasing is not possible if you have volumetric effects and SSAO turned on. Also shadows seems to flicker when i turn them on. See sig for gpu card.

That's odd, it works for me.

I've got an Radeon HD4870, driver version 9.12.

ah i didnt know there was an issue with ati cards, is this something ati cards cant do no matter what game it is or is this something ca screwed up? Im pretty sure i can have all these effects on in other games and still have anti aliasing, stalker call of pripyat would be one off the top off my head, but they would be games running direct x 10. Maybe its a dx9 problem for ati cards i donno.

I have the same problems with my NVIDIA 295 GTXs. Didn't matter if I had SLI on or not.

There is a confirmed bug related to the chipset, and it was still in the version we played in NY. Some of the UI layers were affected as well, such as the Advice window not disappearing properly when turned off. Its minor but I noticed it and pointed it out. There is supposed to be a patch on the first day of release to address that and a few other things.

Did they give you any idea what the few other things would be?

EDIT: Anyone else notice they are using the volley fire drill in the screenshot? I already know what my first mod is going to be!

I'd be interested if the game supports SLI. I suspect not though. I had to physically pull one of my cards out the desktop when playing Empire to avoid one of the many CTD's.

yes they are, just like in ETW.

I just don't like the flags above them and the unit experience.

That screen shot at the top looks really really good........I don't think the game will actually look like that TBH. Kind of looks polished up a bit, but hell what do i know that might be what it actually looks like. Looks really really good.
