Default Questions about NTW Regular MP?

will there be a mechanism to distribute user made maps in napoleon? ETW only shipped with 10 MP maps, many unbalanced and devoid of strategy. there was no way to distribute them within the game, and no way to play other vanilla maps if you had a mappack installed. this effectively killed the map making scene and greatly hurt MP. this must be fixed if NTW is to have a thriving MP community.

also, will the servers be centralized and will there be a chat lobby? those two features were in previous TW installments and are crucial to the success of the regular MP mode.

other additions that were greatly lacking in ETW would be no control points to fight over/no other game types (like capture the flag/base), no way to see the ping in games, and no way to see how many hours a player has logged and how many games they have dropped.

eveything i have mentioned is considered standard in games today and really needs to be in napoleon if they are serious about beefing up the MP element of NTW. Taking the same formula for the MP in ETW, and repeating it with NTW, won't make the MP experience any more enjoyable or replayable.

It would be so cool to have some single and multiplayer custom map, a lot more than in ETW, and more beautiful too.

I agree. MP is a very important part of the game. In empire they've added more maps, but I would like to see many new, different, beautiful maps. Perhaps even batefields with cities or villages. In empire MP soldiers could not be put into houses, it would be more realistic if this was also able in Napoleon.
Of course also battlefields with rivers, hills/ mountains, forrests, large houses of the nobility, or even a farmers field.

a lot of games are set up where if you join a game you don't have a map for, it will automatically download the map and you can play immediately. Ideally, NTW would do this. then we would see custom maps with cities and plantations, manors etc... in ETW this was not possible. has anyone at CA said anything specific about MP? i heard there are new features and game modes or something to that extent, but nothing specific.

Actually, it's been 12 years ago, since game with such feature appeared - starcraft 1998. If company can't do such thing in 2010 then they do not deserve to "live" in terms of business.
Ca never said anything about new battle modes with objectives\control points. Only MP campaign. Nothing about droppers.Standart MP, as in ETW, with same lagging servers will not fix optimised or changed.

    Wrong-Red Orchestra/Mare Nostrum/Darkest Hour do this.

In any case, the other features came from the fact that Gamespy ran the multiplayer, those were Gamespy components/options. Not what Steam does.

Old MTW had a map creator, but it has been missing from the series since RTW

Orly? In Team Fortress 2, you'll download a custom-made map. I guess there's something wrong with TF2 if in their case STEAM allows that and in case of N\ETW it could not be done?
    Also:
    Red Orchestra, released - 2006
    Mare Nostrum - 2008
    Darkest Hour - 2008
    Starcraft -1998

what I would like to see is a battle field for more than 2 players that we got now, but with slight changes. instead of each player one square to place their men in, one big plot per team! this way you can have way more advanced strategic locations to fight your opponents!

you can do that in ETW custom maps, many of them are just one big deployment zone.

also user made maps can be made larger, which is also greatly lacking right now in ETW maps.
