Historic Movies, or based on true story movies

I was wondering, what is a really good historical movie, or based on a true story movie set during the medieval period? With lots of battles and politics, really showing how it was at that time. (dont say kingdom of heaven, the messenger, or braveheart because my class has already seen them)

Like something about the Byzantines, or the Reconquista, or of the Teutonic Knights

The closer I can think of reconquista is El Cid, Byzantines I think there are none, about Teutonic Knights there is Aleksandr Nevskiy

You could say what are your preferences, eastern or western, early or late medieval, stylized or non-stylized, old or contemporary productions.

The most recent I've seen within this genre were Warlords and Mongol, they are both fairly interesting.

Mongol was actually pretty good. It wasn't entirely accurate (what film is...), but it was engaging enough to keep my attention.

its weird that so many of these period films were almost all in the 60s or 50s and there are hardly any today when it probably costs, with inflation, much less to make such a film due to CGI.
