    Default Creating a new faction

Maybe I'm missing it but I have searched and searched for posts and keywords, no luck so...

Anybody have any helpful points on creating a new faction? When I say "new" I'm just trying to put some back into the game, they should already be there. In Barbarian invasion I am trying to put the Germans and the Gauls back into the game. I am working from IBFD V7 but am using the original rome files as a reference only to bring them back. From what I can see in expanded bi they are still there, just not referenced in any other file.

Well after a lot of copying and tweaking, the game won't start... I'm all backed up so if it comes down to it I'll just revert to my old files but I'd really like to see this work. Thanks in advance, even if just to tell me its not possible. Some kinda faction cap maybe?

You cannot add "new" factions into the game, you can only replace existing ones. So if you wanted a "german" faction in BI you'd need to remove one of the existing BI factions.

That file is used by both rtw and bi and likely the rtw parts from the file in the bi location(and vice versa) are leftovers. Unlike others which are specific in content to one of them. EDIT: and btw, the moors and white_huns are also pieces of code that have been left there from projects dropped during development.

Thanks for the info florin, makes sense, but I am a stubborn *** and against all reason will probably keep trying. There has got to be a way, heh.

It can be done, but you can only have 20 factions total, not including the slaves. The game won't run with more.

Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.
