    Icon4 Winning conditions and diplomacy

I have noticed an annoying issue with the Winning conditions and the lack of diplomats.
Imagine you are for example Reikland, one of your winning conditions is to keep let say Erlach during 60 turns; but one of your allies has already occupied it (because you could not expand rapidly enough and he got faster on capturing it from rebels). What can you do to get it ?
With diplomats you could easily exchange a settlement for another or for money, but now ?

This is what is happening in my current game as Reikland

EDIT: i get an idea, can't we have a scripted event that let say every 10 turns allows one to get in touch with all other Empire factions (like during the papal elections in vanilla).

EDIT2: issue is that it also happened with my dwarf campaign in 1.01 but at this moment there were still diplomats so i could exchange Karak-something captured by Talabecland with another settlement.

Good question. What I did was only waiting for the Chaos armies appearing (turns 52-55), letting them conquering all the towns I needed and then crushed them and reconquered the towns. May be a bit cruel solution, but it was the only one I found.
Is there a script to open diplomacy negotiations? That would be cool, but I'm afraid the AI would use this (if playing EMpire for example) to break alliances with the other Empire factions and a civil war should result from this...

If it is a script it could only trigger for the player, but anyway it will maybe require some heavy scripting.

What you describe as a solution is also what i plan to use, but right now this town is so peacefull, lol. And it is absolutely against the immersion
Also i was wondering if i could create a diplomat through the console with "create_unit Altdorf Diplomat" for example. I should try that, but it is a "dirty" work-around.

    That's good.

The best (and simplier) way could be to turn automatically cities that are in ally victory condition to the ally itself (for the player also: if I free Middenheim from the beastmen, I want to hand it back to Middenland). It should be possibile to do this, and not to heavy on scripts.

Yes but on the other hand, this would let you nearly no freedom on the settlements you will finished with. Because you need 15 settlements to win that also mean you need to capture settlements that are not in your "winning list"; and if some or most of them are automatically reattributed to other factions, you will find it difficult.

Imho, no Count in the "modern" WH era would control a city or region from another one (with the latter still alive, obviously). You should win conquering regions from the enemies, not from your friends

Yes but i don't know if for example the League of Ostermark has Drakenlof in its winning conditions, but i play as Reikland and i conquered it after a crusade, i am not willing to give it to Ostermark. What i said applied more for neutral regions than truely the ones meant for that faction On the friends thing i agree with you, but for neutral regions, it will become a mess.

mmh yes, that's true. Maybe the script should affect only starting regions, and only for "good" factions (I do not see Khorne gently handling back something to Tzeentch). For the player, there should be a way to ask an ally to give a region that's mandatory in the winning conditions (maybe in exchange with another region in your possession but not in the victory conditions). It's becoming a bit too complex

Diplomats will be added by script only for player faction in the next patch.
