I know the guys who've been following this faithfully have probably seen this, but WOW!

I can play ETW comfortably at mostly max settings, so if this is what I'm in for...just wow!

It looks like place-holder backpacks - so I'm not sure it will be that pretty. I'm not the best person to answer this, though.

Indeed, one can hope that the game will in fact be that delicious to the eyes. It bodes well for people like me as well, who can only aspire to mediums at best!

    Dear all,

This is indeed an in-game shot. It's taken from one of the campaign introductions which only uses real in-game effects, models and textures. So with high system settings, you can expect to see models of that quality.

    Glad you like!

    Kind regards,
    Kieran

Does this perhaps imply that ships can be seen when they are off coast near a land battle like in RTW then?!

Or were the ships added (and therefore not actually in ingame battles) for the Egypt campaign clip showing Napoleon landing?

Exactly! Someone who actually read kieran`s words properly. It`s an `ingame` movie shot if you want, not a part of the gameplay itself. So sure, you`ll see the best there is there, but don`t expect all that once you control the troops themselves.

This is an old trick, use scenes you`ll never actually take part in to sell a game.

We can and did read his words properly. You won't see the storming of beachheads, you won't be able to get to nearly that level of zoom - but that's not what any of us are claiming.

    Haha Thanks Kieran!

Yes this is an epic pic of the new Napoleon. You will be more amazed if you play the game and watch the action.

Graphics... If only that much budget and time would have been spent on AI. But hey graphics sell right? Look at OP!

Good graphics are a plus with immersion in the game, so lets be kind on this one. Flags and the masses, ignorance is bliss. Still it would not harm the great gaming public if they had to think a few times. Now if our friends at CA can pull off a good battle experience, Then this game will rock.

Those images are well impressive, the best I've seen from a CA vanilla game - and Med II was pretty damn good!

I still fail to understand why people are so impressed by simply graphics alone.

Because we are steadily heading towards movie visuals, and believe it or not lot's of film sell on tons of eye candy, even if the plot is poor Which I know is your favourite subject, no offense meant by that.

People take note, that the OP's screenshot is taken from a game intro, so I don't expect to see ships lined up in the back ground like that actually in the game, but I won't complain to loudly if CA pleasantly surprise me with extra eye candy- now don't you start Humble Warrior
