Define modern.
And this:
Tbilisi Roads Ministry Building

I find that quite ugly.
modern architecture is architecture from the late 19th to 20th to 21st century.
Villa Savoye in Paris by Le Corbusier

I love pretty much everything by Calatrava
I cant wait to see the Chicago Spire.
He is pretty much my inspiration for pursuing architecture in college.
"I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday"
Doubt we'll ever seen it finished since everyone involved in its construction seems to be broke now thanks to economic crisis and according to wiki Calatrava never got paid for it. Plus honestly I think the spire is frigging ugly in comparison to his other buildings, the bridge is just amazing and pic above actually doesnt do it justice imo.
I've always been fond of Art Deco architecture, but I'm not sure if that is still classed as "modern."

Same. It's a nice mixture of traditional and modern styling.Originally Posted by Mr. J.B.

Anything by frank lloyd wright.
calatrava is alright. most of your examples are too ornamental.
the beauty of franky lloyd wright is reason. there was a reason for every beautification, function with beauty.
oh and check out the prada tokyo glass building.
Frank Lloyd was a genius, and he knew it as well. I also think that Kahn was very good.
no one comes close to frank lloyd wright. once you've studied his works, the modern world looks less beautiful altogether.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gammage_Auditorium <-- his most futuristic. it never becomes outdated.
kahn was trying too hard to be original, like most architects of this age. there's no feeling of perfection, in the symphony of form and function. it doesnt have the, it can't be anything else but this feeling.
I hate buildings that are built in a way to seem impractical. Like that ministry building.
Swear filters are for sites run by immature children.
Well my personal favorites are mostly made by Antoni Gaudi, although some people don't classify it as modern

I wear the chain I forged in life, I made it link by link and yard by yard. Is it's pattern strange to you? How would you know of length of the strong coil you bear yourself? It was as full, as heavy, and as long as this seven christmas eve's ago, you have labored on it since, it's a ponderous chain!"Pride is not the opposite of Shame, but it's source ; True humility is the only antidote to shame."
