since i never played SE before, i imagine that the rebel named Treebeard, i hope this isnt related to the actual Treebeard

i really dunon, the city was empty by turn one, i knew about it so i wanted it right away (oh greedy me )

i supose that this rebel guys was to take the settlement... UNLESS its for the AI, and the rebel spawns when human players plays with SE... wich would make sense

i was scared about the name, nothing more..

Every name that's in the game has to be part of a "name pool" from which the names for new characters are chosen. So it can happen that elven characters (or rebels with elven names) are called Treebeard: I once had a diplomat called Treebeard in my SE campaign. Also a random general called Balrog of Moria in my OotMM campaign...

All possible character names in game are in their respective lists. With every new character the game chooses randomly a name from that list. That's why we have orc generals called "Balrog of Moria" and rebel generals called "Treebeard" .

Treebeard is also the title of the Rebel Faction Leader (I mean, when you place the cursor over him in the campaign map).

Recently, I had an army stay in Fangorn, and moved its general into the town there. The captain left in charge of the army was called Treebeard. Some coincidence...

Treebeard is in the list of names for rebel characters (as you can see below), so its nothing special actually.

you are right, i had a gondor campaing where rebels INSITED on appearing near the gates of pelargir (thinks this is its name), their names were the "same" for other gondor captains

i THINK that list is for generals, IMHO, and since rebel generals dont spawn, except for rebel faction leader, you dont see any ( will start a new SE campaing and check if the guy is still named treebeard)

There aren't many rebel characters in the first place, but I think my list still makes sense, because if it wasn't the case; why would KK bother to change all the names (Treebeard isn't obviously in the rebel-list for vanilla). And yes Treebeard is also in the names-list for SE.

i dont get why people bother to cheat, it just ruins the challenge of the game......
