Questions for Mod Installation (I'm New)

Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forums here and to this stie in general. I registered here because I was having some difficulty with My newly downloaded and installed mod of EB v 1.1.

Well, to start off let me just say that I Installed the 1.1 version fine and have played it and I'm about a quarter of the way though my campaign now. I also downloaded EB v 1.2. However, I'm not sure if I installed it properly because every time EB loads up...it's v 1.1.

Now, I've read all the installation guides and installed it accordingly just as I've done to v 1.1. I don't see an EB v 1.2 Start up icon or anything...I used the same root that has my clean installation of RTW along w/ EB. But maybe I'm missing something? Are there files to be replaced? Is there a hidden icon somewhere that loads v 1.2?

I noticed though after installation of v 1.2 I have a...ummm...strange folder that when highlighted says: [First select your RTW where EB1.1 is, Then remove this]. Does anybody know what this is or means? Is this the cause of my installation woes?

Furthermore if anyone is able to help me with this and I'm able to play EB v 1.2...does this mean that I have to start my current campaign from scratch?

Well, thanks readers for getting through this somewhat long winded post. I'm just really anxious to get started on v 1.2 as I know it's a vast improvement over the first version and the first version is a vast improvement over the original RTW.

And as a side note...be prepared for many more questions involving game play of EB as I am new and extremely immersed in this EB world.

1.2 isn't a patch is it?

I don't really know other than if it isn't you shoulda unistalled 1.1 and have a clean instal of RTW for 1.2.

Yep, that's your problem, shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Just delete that folder then reinstall 1.2, when selecting the file path delete that part from the end.

Woohoo! Thanks friends...I'm now running 1.2 right where I left my campaign off. Awesomeness! Now what exactly is this link here...that says 1.2 fixes? Does this mean that EB 1.2 still needs fixes...should I download and install these fixes? Or does it just mean that the game is fixed once I go from v 1.1 to 1.2? Sorry for the Noob questions guys.

Those fixes handle problems which were discovered after the release of EB 1.2.
To have a stable version, you have to install these files, follow the instructions mentioned in the thread.
Otherwise you may have CTD's.

You know about the EB-Background-Script?

That's not really advised, you should really complete that campaign in 1.1, or start a new campaign, as you will end up with a lot of strange traits for your FMs.

@Johnhughthom: I don't think that is something I want to do now...considering my regions controlled, current alliances. If the FM have different traits then so be it...I don't feel like they were doing much for me in the first place.

I do have a question that is not directly related to the EB game itself but rather to the use of this forum. How do I make a post properly displaying quotes from others who leave responces? Much like you have done johnhughthom on my previous posts.

Again I apologize for the noob questions and very much appreciate your support. In the mean time...I will download the 1.2 fixes and beging posting another question.

I was just making you aware of the issue, if you don't mind the strange traits then you should be fine.

At the bottom right of each post there are two buttons, quote and reply. Just press the quote button and you will be able to edit out the parts you don't want before posting, your own posts will also have an edit button to let you go back and correct any mistakes.
