Crusades as historical events
I think that the Crusades should be historical events, generated at the precise, historical date. I've often got bored waiting for the First Crusade way into the XII century as I developed my muslim empire unbothered by the heathens. At least the First, the Third and the Fourth Crusade should come at their time and be the epic, history making, military campaign they were.
Don't get me wrong: it's fun and certainly not unrealistic to be able to call a crusade, so this should still be a part of the game.
On the other hand, I have to pity the poor Rum turks since they'll face the crusaders and the Byzantines at the same time (whilst owning only 4 settlements). Because I surely hope that the AI will be more aggressive (sieging and taking muslim cities) on their way to the final destination.
