Unable to install rome:total war gold on windows 7

so i just bought a copy of rome total war gold and i have been unable to install it on my windows 7 32bit ultimate.i placed it in the cd reader and it's unable to read the disc.

so i went to my computer and double clicked :E (My CD Drive) but it asked me to put a cd in it even though the rome total war cd is in it.i need help please.thanks.

How new is your cd-rom? Is it a Blu-ray?

Have you tried the disc in another computer?

I have Win 7 Pro 64bit and it works.

mine is dvd disk.
and I have a dvd player.
it used to work before but not now what might be the reason do you think?

The disc is scratched or dirty.
The drive could be dying.

I'm sure it is working becauze it is recognaized by my other computer.

well since you mentioned I have windows 7 and I don't know from where i can explore becazue wheneaver I right click explore don't appear in the list?

Very good chance your dvd-rom is too new and not backward compatible to the Rome's old format.

If you have iTunes installed, uninstall it and try it.
Try updating the drive's firmware.

I don't suppose any of you can help me here? My friend wants to try the total war series. I let him borrow my Rome Total War Anthology edition. He has a Windows 7 Pro. As most of you know, the Anthology edition disc is no longer needed. When he tries to play, it says he doesn't have permission. My friend bought and owns this computer himself, no parental control as far as i know. Can you help? ( i am sorry if this is irrelevant to this thread, but i am kinda of new here, and don't know how to make my own yet.)

Try installing someplace like C:\Games.
