A Touch of RPG as Regards the Generals

Would it be nice to personalize the generals if the player wishes?, maybe in a future release..

• Such as choosing a hat (or lack of)
• Haircut/Wig
• Uniform slight alterations and boots
• Facial hair - mustache or no
• a Personal Pet like a dog maybe? (remember Cornwallis in the patriot)
• Jewelry?
• And perhaps the breed/colour of horse used.

These would contribute to the players immersion and reluctance to let their favorite Generals be hacked down or shot to pieces on the battlefield. A General with an obscene and fairly laughable appearance would of course be a negative factor in his traits. A well dressed General could give a slight bonus to his troop's morale, as they appreciate his gay regalia and swagger.


If anyone did not want to tinker with their General's appearance, never mind because it could be an optional feature to the game.

That would be really cool, especially adding followers, maybe a dog or a pet bear (ok a little silly but fun!)

Actually you know what would be cool? If you can put rpg elements into your general for online. So... win online battles and you level up your general and then get skill points. You know what I'm getting at?

/yeah. Maybe choosable weapons, as well? An officer's pistol, or a carbine. A saber, or a lance.

I'd like it if we couldn't customise generals but had a general system similar to the ministers system. You can promote/fire generals and hope good ones come etc.

Perhaps you could choose a General's 'staff' to give bonuses in the same way? A second in command, a supply officer ect..

custamizing generals would be cool, i'd love to see my general stand out due to his outrageous apperance, and pets would be awsome to

It would also be cool if we could create our generals own flag for the generals bodyguard unit^^ maybe with his family crest or something ^^

I would love to see my general puffing away on his tobacco pipe in the swirl of warfare..

Unique pets for faction+location?

go to india, get a tiger or elephant, go to america, get a pack of wolves lol

There is a uniform designer, and generals (so reviewers have said) are much more valued.

It would be nice to be able to change the names of our Generals now we have the ability to rename regiments..

If only for the sake of fun, or instead you maybe could be able to choose the name of your General if you are promoting him

I'd get a general of Sikh decendent and call him General I.Singh. Terrible joke I know

This really should be in multi. I always thought one of the cool things in age of empires 3 was having a named explorer it made you feel more attached to your civ. I would really like to see this in ntw. Having a customized army leader with a custom army sounds great.

The way total war is going, would anyone be surprised if generals could be modified in an RPG sense?
